KTM survives torrential rains; wind and mud to finish the 2011 season strong.

From KTM

The 9th round marks the conclusion of the Canadian National series, and this round was one to remember. With a tornado hitting ground a mere 20 minutes away, the Royal Distributing/KTM team put their heads down and put in their best efforts. Andy White, Manager, had this to say “I am extremely happy about how this season went, unfortunately the weather didn’t let us finish on a high note but we had a season filled with great finishes in both classes. I am so proud of all the riders and am excited for 2012!”

MX1

Despite the rain and mud Robby Marshall had his best finish yet, a 3rd place, only missing 2nd after MX 3 class World Champion Julien Bill passed him on the last lap. Kyle Keast rode to a 6th place finish which secured him 4th in the series. Michael Willard finished the series in 9th. Officials decided to cancel the second MX 1 moto after an hour of non-stop rain made the track impassable.

MX2

Both Jeremy and Kaven Benoit both rode as well as possible through the deep mud and zero visibility, finishing the first moto fourth and fifth respectively. Benoit opted to sit out the second moto, deciding to rest his injured ankle after his 5th place finish in the first moto clinched him second in the series points. Jeremy finishes the series in 4th place.
